Khiva, une  ville de l’ancien Khorezm en Ouzb\u00e9kistan, a \u00e9t\u00e9, selon la l\u00e9gende, \u00e9tablie autour du puits Hewvakh creus\u00e9 sur ordre de Shem, le fils a\u00een\u00e9 du No\u00e9 biblique. Khiva, un grand centre commercial sur l’ancienne Route de la Soie, \u00e9tait la capitale du khanat de Khiva, puis la capitale de la R\u00e9publique populaire sovi\u00e9tique du Khorezm.<\/p>\n

La vieille ville int\u00e9rieure, ou Itchan Kala, est un mus\u00e9e \u00e0 ciel ouvert. Elle est entour\u00e9e de murs de briques dont les fondations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises en place au 10\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.  Les murs actuels cr\u00e9nel\u00e9s remontent \u00e0 la fin du 17\u00e8me si\u00e8cle et atteignent une hauteur de 10 m\u00e8tres.<\/p>\n

La vieille ville conserve plus de 50 monuments historiques, y compris de nombreuses mosqu\u00e9es, des madrasas (\u00e9cole coranique), des palais, et quelques 250 vieilles maisons, datant pour la plupart du 18e ou 19e si\u00e8cle. La grande tour bleue sur la place centrale de la ville \u00e9tait cens\u00e9e \u00eatre un minaret, mais elle est rest\u00e9e inachev\u00e9e \u00e0 ce jour.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

En 1990, la ville a \u00e9t\u00e9 incluse dans la Liste du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.<\/p>\n

Nous avons eu la chance de rester dans la vieille ville et nous en avons profit\u00e9 pour la visiter \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes heures de la journ\u00e9e, mais surtout le soir, quand la chaleur devient supportable et l’ambiance g\u00e9n\u00e9rale agr\u00e9able.<\/p>\n
