La Merced Church, Antigua, Guatemala

This post is also available in: French

One of the best known churches of Antigua Guatemala. Built in 1548, it was destroyed several times by earthquakes and rebuilt. The last time was in 1976. The facade in baroque style is flanked by two bell towers of low height.

The convent next to it featured the largest water fountain in Antigua or even in Latin America.
