Maiko Taiken around Kyoto, Japan

This post is also available in: French

Walking around Ninen Zaka near the pagoda Yasaka no To, one can often encounter women dressed up as Maiko. They are not real Maiko but are women experiencing the feeling of walking around made up as one, wearing beautiful kimono, and using an assortment of authentic accessories.  Quite a few woman, Japanese and foreigners, enjoy this experience. They rarely refuse a picture.

I really liked this picture because of the background, one of these omnipresent automatic selling machines offering all kind of drinks and sodas, cold and hot.
