Shiborizome kimono, Kyoto, Japan

On January 1st, 2011, we went to eat at “Kinmata”, a famous Kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto. The dinner (see below) was incredible.

The wife of the owner of the place was wearing a “Shiborizome” kimono where each spot we see is the result of a little tie during the tainting process — this makes for some of the most expensive kimono there is, and it is truly a beautiful kimono.
